    I want to tell you how wonderful the TOPICAINE® Gel is. My 12 year old son is undergoing a series of laser treatments for a port wine stain on his face. This birthmark is on his right cheek, extending downward to the right side of his neck, and is also on his chin and a small area on his chest.

    During the first treatment, the doctor was only able to do the cheek area as it was so painful for my son. He halted after only doing about one-third of the port wine stain as the child couldn't take any more. We did a second treatment about one month later to laser the neck, chin and chest, but again, even though he received Valium before the procedure, the doctor was only able to do a small part due to the intense burning sensation.

    The third treatment was entirely different. My son's skin was coated with the TOPICAINE® gel for an hour before the treatment and it worked!! The doctor was able to treat all the areas. The chin area didn't seem as numb as some of the other areas (we could tell that was very painful by his reactions easily) but perhaps we didn't get as good a coverage there. While he could still feel the laser, it was not intensely painful and allowed the procedure to continue.

    I know that without this gel, if the treatment was as painful as before, we were not going to continue. My son and I had discussed whether this was important to him or not, and he was so fearful of the pain that he didn't want to continue. Now he is ready to go on with the treatments as he knows it won't be unbearable.

Please continue with the development of this product.

• Our entire staff agreed that the non-oily translucent gel is more patient friendly

On a personal note, I used TOPICAINE® GEL after oral surgery. Even though the product is not sold for oral purposes, it was the only thing that gave me comfort. I used a very small dab and then rinsed with water.

    I would like to state how pleased I am with the performance of ESBA Laboratories' product, TOPICAINE® anesthetic gel. I decided to use TOPICAINE® when I began laser hair removal treatments at Medical Resources LLC Laser Hair Removal Center of Rhode Island. Upon starting treatments I found the TOPICAINE® gave me exceptional relief from the discomfort of the laser. The TOPICAINE® treatment is comparable to the numbing effect of a Novocain shot you would receive at a dentist's office. I am now approaching my final laser treatment and I attribute my staying power and ability to receive treatments at a  higher than typical setting, entirely to the use of TOPICAINE®. I purchased TOPICAINE® 4%  for the sole purpose of trying to get through a bikini wax. I am happy to say that I survived the bikini wax and I definitively owe it to the TOPICAINE® . It was exactly what I needed to take the edge off. I will recommend it to anyone who can bear to listen to my waxing anxiety stories. I will be definitively ordering this product again.
