TOPICAINE 4%: TOPICAL ANESTHETIC GEL- It's a Vacation from Pain!DESCRIPTIONTOPICAINE® 4% is a non-oily, translucent gel containing Lidocaine 4% in a microemulsion with skin permeation enhancers and soothing agents. Also available in a 5% lidocaine gel concentration. WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONSUse TOPICAINE® 4% on normal intact skin for pain relief. Indicated for minor skin irritations, minor burns, minor cuts and insect bites. TOPICAINE® 5% has lidocaine 5% gel with label indication: for anorectal pain. FAST ACTING ANESTHETICFast acting anesthetic; excellent skin numbing results obtained 20 min to 1 hour post application. TOPICAINE®'s fast action and efficacy has been demostrated in independent clinical studies. COOLING, NON-OILY, CLEAR VEHICLETOPICAINE® is formulated in a cooling, penetrating gel composed of water, ethanol, glycerin, jojoba oil, aloe vera oil, glyceryl monolaureate, benzyl alcohol, carbomer 940 and EDTA. PRECAUTIONSDo not cover large areas of the body. TOPICAINE® is not recommended for use on mucous membranes because of much greater absorption than through intact skin. Do not use on broken or inflamed skin. TOPICAINE® is not recommended for use beyond the external ear. Read all the medical information. Toxicity of topical lidocaine applied to the breasts to reduce discomfort during screening mammographyThis study conclusion was that 30 grams of of 4% lidocaine gel (TOPICAINE 4%) on the breasts and chest wall covered for 1 h in healthy women resulted in plasma concentrations of lidocaine and MEGX well below therapeutic or toxic levels and no clinically significant adverse events.
